Hi there!
Loving my new T5, would like to do a few minor modifications to it, but not sure what to do..
Yesterday I just gave the bay a good clean up and decided to relocate the horns and i drilled a few holes in the airbox, now when my heads in the bay and the engines reved, you can hear a whoosh from the turbo :D
If I fit a cone filter or a panel, will there be a need for a dump valve, or will it still be very quiet? Will probably go for one of the dumpvalves on ebay for £95 unless they can be found cheaper elsewhere?

Im thinking about doing the actuator mod, but a bit concerned as I've heard it doesn't always work out..
I probably will eventually get the 304bhp upgrade, but got to finish off my golf before I start blowing cash on the T5!

thankss

i can hear my re-circ lovely through my cone filter, but you will lose bhp if you use the car for stop/start driving as it can only suck hot air from the engine bay

don't forget you'll need the re-circ blanking plate (£35 i think) & a metal T-piece pipe to fit the dump valve

Get an ITG panel filter, really enhances the engine noise. For a cheap increase in bhp buy yourself an MBC - around 30 quid for a good one! (until you can invest in an ECU remap!)

Shud I get it, just been reading through the site and the opinions on one vary..
Guessing its easy DIY fitment, and is it a case of trial and error to get the controller set up correctly?

What sort of benefits will it add? When talking figures, what sort of figures?

And is it a simple job to fit?

WOW. An extra 25bhp...
Wont cause any reliability probs, standard (123k) boost pipes be ok with the extra pressure.. hoping they're not perished or anything...

If you haven't already done the stage 0 tune up then I would suggest that you do this before fitting the MBC. As long as you dont have any air leaks and the pipes are all in good nic and she is showing no adverse signs (before or after fitting) then all should be well. I ran my MBC for a good few months before the RICA and Pedro and Bracer have been running there's for more like years!

I think there is a thread on how to fit an MBC in the "How to" section that might be worth reading up on.

I prefer the inline designs myself, if nothing else they fit better.

I can email you all the fitting indtruction's if you like ? + there are 2 ways you can fit a MBC which I can also explain.
