Air intake removal

Is there a knack of getting this tube off the shroud? The two pieces wont seperate for love nor money at the moment. A long time ago I suceeded, and remembered a little internal rubber nipple that held the two in place, could this be the problem?

Any tips most welcome!

-edit- it was on *very tight* but it did eventually come off. Gave it a damn good pull.
