Had a chap in for mot yesterday with 2 litre Auto 850 estate. We got chatting and he was shocked to hear that my missus's T5 estate returned around 30-35 mpg, he was only managing to scrape 25 !

Best ever was 525 miles... Sheffield-Gosport-Sheffield. I was getting a bit nervous roundabout Woodall Services at J30 of the track... the yellow light had been on since Trowell...

That was on 95 octane BP unleaded with Millers Octane plus added, and 85-ish most of the way, with a bit of dithering on the M25...

Before anyone asks, I don't go via the M25 now. :dunce: I've found a better way!

34 mpg is my record over 70 miles cruising between 45 and 80 with the odd blip to 90 mph, Ive managed 32mpg driving 320 miles around Norfolk,
Over the last 1000 miles I did last week I managed 25.4mpg and was fully laden often cruising at 90 mph sometimes a wee bit more and that was with a leaky vac pipe!

i was only getting 29.9 mpg in a 2002 S60 d5 round town WHICH WAS WHAT MY PHASE 2 S40 T4 WAS GIVING
sooner have a t5 less noise fuels 5p litre cheaper """MORE POWER""" :B_steerin

MMM - I'd be interested to know more about the 3" back box too.
Any difference to exhaust noise? Cost? :B_blite:

im informed by the previous owner who was analy-retentive about the car that when he first got the car he put it in to twr? and had the seams welded, chassis strengthened and bits shaved off, i dont have any paperwork to support it but its got 160000m on the clock, ive just put a koni sports suspension package on it and a few other bits, it goes round corners like its on rails-dont know much about vovlos so i couldnt tell one way or the other- The backbox is like a small dustbin and sounds hard as a box of nails-with the dump valve and cone filter i spend more time with the windows down listening to the suck-woosh-rumble sounds than the stereo, it did have a garret roller bearing turbo and bigger intercooler on it before i got it-seen dyno slips for 450bhp, ill try and get to the crooked billet meet when its next on, maybe somebody who knows T5's would spot some mods ive missed!
just spoke to my mate who fitted the suspension and both the boxes are stainless and have Powerflow stamped on them

Usually about 22mpg, Best 25+mpg over 1600 miles in france (using super!) so about 350 miles to a tank.
Limited fossil fuel stocks in the earth, we owe it to our kids to use it all up so they can move on to alternate fuels quicker and stop global warming! :B_steerin
