Has anyone used the rolling road at Well Lane turbo centre in Batley, its the only one I can find that takes AWD, and is anything like local to me. Comments would be appreciated.

With hindsight I am not entirely happy with the accuracy or the size of their fan (which was a bit puny) - just my opinion

*Posts disapearing again??*

I wasn't happy with my auto run - they seemed a bit confused as to what revs they should be measuring at etc. But it was still a good day thanks to the company.

Stu what do you want doing ? Some of the best tuners going don't have a rolling rd, or are you jut wanting a power run ? You could check out motorsportdevelepmonts in Blackpool but there Ford speacialists really but are top guys, or Norris Motorsport in Coventry for tuning are the business.

Thanks to all replies.
TDS, I'm just after a power run, following the visit to VT last month, possibly try the one in Blackpool if they can accomadate AWD.
Was going to ask if anyone else interested, but there seems to be a glut of dyno days going off in the near future.

Just a word of advice for anyone with the old viscous couples AWD system. If you take it on a rolling road, it has the potential to be damaged during the coast down phase. I don't think it's a problem during the power run on the way up. This doesn't apply to the new haldex systems which can be run on a 4WD rolling road with no problems.

Cheers very much Adam, thats advise I'm very happy to have, you just changed my mind. I think I can live with being in the dark, just have to fantasize about the BHP.

You can have a go at measuring the BHP with a G-tech meter. Weigh your car on a weigh bridge or with corner weights and the G-tech can work it out then (I think).

Oh!!!!! this is getting complicated. Just when I thought, all I had to do, was pay a man a fair price, and get some quick results.
Cheers Adam.

I went to Well Lane for a r/r day with a Vauxhall OC last year.

Was fairly straightforward so they didnt get a chance to mess anything up!

But everyone I've ever mentioned Well-lane to, say to stay away from there. I'm not sure if its just hear-say that they're crap though....

They were on 'The used car roadshow' a while back, and the chap was saying how they 'chipped' cars, it was along the lines of (strong yorkshire accent):

"We daaanloooord all information off chip on t'compooter then daaanloooord all info off compoooter and daaanlooord it on new chip and daaanlooord it on t'car"

Well it seemed to me that he thought if he used words like 'download' often, he would make it sound dead good!
