auto boxes

Can anyone tell me if all the 850 auto boxes are the same?, ie a 2.5 20v box fit an 850R

no mate, looks different to me:

850 96> 2.0 10v / 2.0 20v non turbo, auto new - 1208841, replaced by 8111032 (exchange)

850 96> 2.3 non turbo/2.5 10v/2.5 20v, auto - new 1208818, replaced by 8111045 (exchange)

850 96> 2.0 20v Turbo/2.3 20v Turbo /2.5 20v turbo, auto - new 1208840, replaced by 8111043 (exchange)

The autobox on the 850r is physically the same unit but does have uprated fluid pump... clutches.... and differential !!! make sure you get a 850r box ! 250 - 300 bhp has a tendency to rip auto boxes to shredds !!!!
