Had the car for 3 weeks. Absolutely loving it, but oh the fuel economy. According to the computer I've averaged 19.5mpg over 3 tank fulls. I do tend to floor it a bit every now and then (certainly not all the time), but even when I've tried to be very light footed, it won't do more than 21. I drive mostly around town. Is this normal?

We with the T5 experience 20 odd around town, you do have 4 wheels to power, whereas we have 2.
motorway you can see anything form 28-30 odd,

Gary.

PS awaits for Dorkhah comments.

Yes AWD will be a bit more juicey.
My S70 T5 managed 29.9 on the north circular the other week, but that was doing a steady 50 mph.
But it soon uses the juice when you really step on the loud pedal!!
Depends how you drive, my wife can use only a 1/4 of a tank a week going to work and back (about 8 miles a day).
But i put 15 pound in it last saturday morning, did a few local trips in london and by saturday evening the petrol light was on!!!!!!!!

I'm getting 22mpg around town being gentle with it and much more on a run - and I'm chuffed to bits - It's much more economical than my last car.

Ha ha yes I 've got one of those as well! I make a point of NEVER checking the economy on that car. Driving it on track, it'll go through a full tank in 4 15 minute sessions.
