Speedo calibration

Please excuse my ignorance but would a phase 1 S70 (throttle cable) have a speedo cable as opposed to electrickery? Am I right cables have little gear things on that spin the cable that moves the needle? And if I wanted to get a 200mph speedo dial, some dude thats good with numbers could calculate the new gear ratio thingy for the end of the cable that would ensure it would tell me the correct speed I was travelling at?

Not 100% sure but i think all the 850/70 series are on electronic speedos just that they are sensed from different points. But no doubt someone with more knowledge will enlighten us.

My 98 V70 is all electronic the speedo is part of the abs ecu i think.Dont know if thats any help.
