What power has a petrol V/S-70 2.5 turbo got as I didn't know they done a 2.5 & thought they were all 2.3 units, also why didn't they fit these to the T5's? :rainfro:

Hi 850south.

I *think* the 2.5 turbo is 197 bhp. It's a Light Pressure Turbo engine.

Not sure why the 2.5 wasn't fitted to the T5, probably something to do with compression - the 2.3 can probably handle the pressure better. Bigger cc doesn't necessarily mean faster car.

The new T5's are 2.5 though I think.

Can someone point us in the right direction, there are certainly 2.0, 2.3, 2.4 and 2.5 variants. I am seem to recall the 2.4 came in 140 and 170bhp and subsequently the 2.5 is 200bhp???

Yes, the V70 PII T5 starting 2005 has the 2.5 block.

Depends on the years really, im not sure of all the engines and powers in P1 specs but the P2's are as follows,

Non turbo 2.4, same engine but available in 140 and 170bhp, depends on the ecu.

Turbo cars start at 2.0 which is low pressure and 180 bhp, they now jump to a 2.5 turbo which is 210bhp and then the now 2.4 (for some reason) T5 which is a 260bhp.

Hi again, forgot to ask whats the spec like & is it the same as aT5 (spoiler,16" alloys etc),does anyone rate them as there cheaper to buy than a T5? :rainfro:

Hmmm Kinda like saying I'd like an M3 but the 320 is cheaper.

Never driven a 2.5 so cant compare but if you want a T5 then the cheaper option will never live up to expections IMO

The 2.5's are actually quite a nice drive but probably rarer than the T5, very smooth but lack the overall kick of the T5.

T5 is the engine and doesn't really have anything to do with the spec. The spec is dictated by the particular model. For example, no designation is basic, S has a few added bits, SE has more still etc etc. There may also be factory fitted options over and above the spec.

The 2.5T will boost lower in the rev range but will run out of boost sooner. T5 is the ultimate for overall performance but I'm sure the 2.5T would still be fun, especially if remapped.
