You can now all, as members buy Falken tyres online and have them delivered to your door from:

www.falkens.co.uk (http://www.falkens.co.uk)

As members you are all entitled to 10% discount, to qualify for the discount email me asking for a discount code to put into the coupon box at checkout :)

Many thanks to Justin Gale for the generous offer, i look forward to feedback from you.

Just checking recommended tyres - Bridgestone www suggests 205/50 R16 87H.
Michelin suggest 205/50R16 87W TL
(Haven't checked what's on at the mo cos it's too cold & dark!).

Wouldn't have thought a "H" rating would be enough? - http://www.tyresave.co.uk/tyrspeed.html
Maybe a "V" or "W" would be best???

Other than that - thanks again Justin (and Justin)!

Typical, I search out a quality set of tyres, buy them, get them fitted, and then recommend them. And then everyone else gets 10% off :rolleyes:

I hope you lots are grateful :shifty:

Do I get a 10% rebate then :hidesbehi

Doesn't add up to enough for me I'm afraid.
The quote I have from my local friendly garage supplies and fits Falken 205/45/17 88W for £64.80 each corner. Total £259.20 same day fitting.

The website has the same tyres at £63.56 tyre only + shipping (?can't find any mention of P+P until check out possibly?).

Obviously we take off the generous 10% and the cost is £57.21 + fitting and I assume delivery (do any websites deliver free?) - total £228.84 and wait three days and pay a garage to fit...

I appreciate member discounts but this doesn't add up for me personally...

Grumpy, sleep deprived and without my red brick... :(

Really 215's? I asked the question last week but there was no strong feeling either way.
Stupid question alert* the speed/load code 88W or 87W, what does the numeric stand for? Is there much difference between 87 and 88?
Any other suggestions for the 850R tyre department?
It is stuck in a dealer service as I type. Seems a waste of a good turbo to be sat cold in Derby...

205x45x17's are the standard fitment, but 215's will give better grip, 225's are too wide and can rub.

The numbers before the speed rating are the load rating codes and in this case are;

87 = 545kg

88 = 560kg

:wink:

That's not a bad prices at all, £96 for a 225/35/18 all in.But it is a Flaken and not a top grippy tyre.
I had them years ago,I won't go into on what lol,But nice tyre tread and lasts for ages.

To some of those who don't know,

16"=tyre 205 or 215/50

17"=tyre 205 or 215 or even 225/45

18"=tyre 215 or 225 or :eek: 235/40 :eek: Some go for 35 profile,But mind the bumps.
