View Full Version : Weaving at speed?

I have noticed that on a constant radius curve at quite high speed my T5 weaves slightly (by weaving i mean the steering wheel gently goes from side to side) nothing drastic but i would like to stop it. Any ideas? It is not tyres or wheels as it did it with my old wheels and i now have brand new wheels and tyres fitted? I can't hear any knocking anywhere and i also have a strut btrace fitted. Does this sound like dampers? It only has 67K miles on so are they likely to be shot? Cheers for any ideas :)

!!sounds like a volvo to me !!
!!5 ton of pressure on 1 tyre causing it to weave !!

either that or empty some water out of the fire engine

not very helpful but what the hell :remybussi

I get a similar symptom when the power really strats to appear - i just thought it was the diff doing its best to deal with the HP going through the wheels...

aint this torque steer though? if new shocks will stop it then im off shopping strainght away.

It's not torque steer that i am getting, its not really a power thing, more speed induced.

I wondered about some sort of bushes or something like that. It only passed MOT a month ago so i'm thinking that TCA's etc should be ok.

Worn wishbone bushes or damaged wishbone... pretty sure anyway!

Mine used to do it, you'd plant the car into an average speed long turn and you could feel it wandering around.

Replaced my wishbones as one was bent and problem solved.

Time for Powerflex, if they will fit!

Ok that sounds like it, i'll check them when i get chance. Although i was told it had new ones fitted when i bought it. Maybe they meant it needed some!

I'm with redbrick. Definately changes the bushes as the standard items have all the stiffness of warm butter.

I put the powerflex bushes on and it made a world of difference to the front end of the car. this may sound conravercial but every bit as good as the strut brace!

I think new bushes will be my first step. Well at least having a look at the state of them.
