hello - Tuning pre-2000 T5 engines to over 300 is fairly easy. go to bromsgrove with 600 and assuming that your turbo is up to the job then a remap will have you over the 300 in one go.
as odd as this might sound I am selling my beloved. You can have the 300 gees gees already to rock and roll.
I will throw in a smilie too :)

Hi!!
Welcome to the forum!
So what model T5 have you got?
In the way of tuning to 300 horses probably the most efficient way is the RICA which is a ECU remap. 300bhp wont damage you engine - they will take about 340 to 350 before the engine really starts to feel the push.
Keep us updated!!!

hi guys,
i have a silver, auto 2001 v70 t5, seven seats and a healthy disregard for bmw's; i take it this will work ok?
thanks for the advice i think the rica route looks good, the other things i crave are some interior carbon fibre or aluminium trims for the centre consul and some bigger wheels mine are only the matiz alloys 16's i reckon 18's might help with the extra horses.
has anyone ever seen a switchable ecu system so you could have it in normal/sport etc?
are there any more meets planned i have never met anyone with a tuned volvo who knows how they hold up day to day?
cheers,
jim

We have a meet planned for teh 17th October at Santa Pod Raceway in Northampton if thats any good to you?
Your V70 will take to the RICA like a duck to water!! :dgrin: And that healthy disregard for Bimmers will grow to include scoobies etc too!!!

Hi Jim and welcome to the forum :D
Speak with Volvo Tuning about a switchable ECU system ... Adam is the man for that :)
I've been running my RICA since February (9000 miles) and it's getting better and better :dgrin:

Hi, Have you any more info on the re-map service these guys give, like addresses, costs etc.....
Having already had an Chip upgrade does a re-map include a new chip, or is the fitted modified?

There is no chip in an ecu upgrade. You will probably need to have your current chip removed. RICA is downloaded software onto your ecu.

So where would one get this done, and how much are we talking about?

The RICA can be done at Volvo Tuning in Bromsgrove. About £590 for the 304 horses!

What chip do you have currently? RICA aren't the only Upgrade out there (some start from just £295) but they have the biggest stand alone power increase. It isn't cheap but when I weighed up the pro's and cons with the other upgrades it won hands down.
If you want to know wnaything about the other upgrades then I have details on most of the ones available to Volvo.
