View Full Version : What A Weekend ! Now I Have A Misfire !!

I am getting very disheartened ! First a Jammed glovebox - Now a misfire @ 5000rpm . Not even a misfire as such - it just cuts out for a fraction of a second - and the lambda light comes on and goes out just as quickly . It only happens under hardish acceleration in 'Sport mode' !
If anyone can help , there's a couple of pints waiting !!!

I got your email thanks.

Hmm well its something you did that for sure ! So first off double check that the plugs were the correct ones, and then go back through everything you changed to see if you can spot anything amiss. My guess it that you have another maf problem thou, which could be as simple as a dirty contact so have a good look there and get back to us.

Regards

Steve

LOL

Grease even thou it protects against corrosion which in turn creates a poor contact also acts as an insulator ! You are better off cleaning it all up and with a tooth pick or something similar apply the smallest of Vaseline to the contacts. Remember the MAF works on a Strength of voltage signal and thus the poor signal could be as a result of the gunked up contacts
