Hi,
My 98 t4 has just had its 80 000 mile service done ( timing belt etc) by my local mechanic. This is the first time iv had her serviced by anyone else (up til now its been Volvo but as shes gettin on i opted for the less expensive option). Since iv got her back there is a misfire when driven hard, for example pulling away in the 3rd and 4th, there is a judder in the power (as if the turbo is switching on off on off. Iv taken it back to the garage he said it could be the spark plugs as its definetly a misfire. Any ideas. It is an awful coincedence this has occured only since having been serviced as she was running sweet before. Could any thing to do with the timing belt change cause this?

Any ideas or help would be much appreciated.

Thanks Guys

plugs are a major problem on these in my experience best plugs i have used are the genuine volvo plugs

check the plugs first deffinately

bosch super 4s are the worst for it on volvos

Have you checked that all the plug leads are pushed home fully?

Last time I had the wifes' Golf serviced it ran a little rough and I found that the lead for No 2 was not clicked into place at the plug end. fine since.

Check nothing else has been disturbed or omitted.
