You ideally need a vice/press to get the bush in.

Lube it up with something then try pressing it in on the ground ?

DO a forum search, Engineer posted instructions on how to do it iirc.

Good luck

Chris

You need ideally to force it in, have you fitted it on its own? you put the metal piece in last,
mine was fitted with a fly press, but others have used studding with some nuts on to draw it in,

Gary.

the odd think is one side slides in no problem the lhs (looking front of the car up to the back) just seems way too big

have tried compressing them but just does not go in straight

cant get the stabiliser bar off the car du to a/c components in the way not letting the bolt drop out

and to get the polly bush housing off looks a pita

Don't panic.

Mine was a pain. However as Siam was saying fit the metal bit in last and use plenty of wd40. I also found swearing a lot helped quite a bit as well. If it still won't go in I resored to putting both halves of the polly bush in a LOW!!! oven for about 15 minutes. They become much softer and easier to squeeze into position. Will still need lots of WD40 though.

I also found that mine didn't go in completely flush. If yours is the same then tighten everything up. Go for a drive and get the car nice and warm then give the engine some welly so it moves around in it's mounts. Stop, re-check bolt and just keep doing this until the bolt stays put and/or the bush is flush.

Good luck.

They are very tight to fit, imagine all of the force it takes, when in place,
Engineers write up explains it all to the T,

Low oven means about 70 - 80 degC

Basically they came out after about 15 mins and were almost too hot to hold but not quite. I wouldn't try freezing them as that would make them harder and they are unlikley to shrink that much.

Instead of using the caveman way of fitting the bush ( beating the c**p out of it ) trying filing a leading edge on the bush and then appling plenty of copper slip or washing up liqurd. You will find the bush start better but will still need pulling into it`s housing using a long bolt and some penny washers.

Fitted my today this way, only took a hour.

Job done well apart from rebuilding the reat of the car

quick clamp and feed the leading edge in with a screwdriver

loads of wd 40 and she eventually popped in

trouble was i didnt want to take the clamp off lol
