at last, couldnt work out hot to post ,hope this is ok.any way two weeks ago i sold my near mint mk11 golf gti last week ibought mint t5 saloon 1994 85k fvsh one lady owner from new , was ?2200 ok? should it smell hot after ablast on the fine qiuet country roads up here ,is 225 bhp accurate as it pulls very well but i thought be faster,maybe its because its so smooth ,touched 135mph easilyenough though!.any advise or tips on ownership would be gratefully recieved.

smelling hot is ok coz the turbo is at the back of the engine. hd the same thing this afternoon pulling 90mph in 3rd up a hill. its when u smell engine fluids u should worry.

Welcome to the forum! Where about are you based?

Tips on ownership is simple look after the T5 (good quality fuel, oil and servicing) and the T5 will look after you and provide you with miles of smiles!!

maybe should of mentioned id had it up to 135 ,bound to smell hot! i did !!

Pittenweem!? Been there. Beautiful fish and chips. Sat on the quay looking across the forth as the sun sets on a summers day after a long day up in the glens.
some drive from london eh ,were you up for the festival, its put pittenweem back on the map , some tasty roads up here and very few police as my 23 year old clean license proves. how do i know if ihave any messages?(NEW BOY).JEL.

Best tip it to start to work down the Stage 0 tune up to ensure that your T5 is in best condition. 225bhp is the stock figure. You might not be attaining that due to many factors. It might be worthwhile getting a calibrated boost gauge to ensure you are making the correct level of boost. Reading the knowledge base section is a worthwhile exercise. Bracer "aint frontin' homes"
