How will this work, we drive up to you and you polish them there and then OR we send the parts off to you, you polish and send them back?

will work on a an off the car basis

its the only way to do it really
to mirror polish say an inlet manifold is going to take some time with all the flatting of that rough cast

Do you have any prices worked out yet for stuff like the inlet manifold?, what sort of price would you charge for polishing the top of the cam carrier?(the bit at the top of the head)

Hey t5 was wondering when you polish an inlet manifold you can do the outside sure but can you do the inside. Having a smooth inlet manifold on the inside means gases get into the engine quicker = slightly more power. Not massive gains but every little helps.

Whatdo you reckon is it possible?

its not really a good ideal to polish inlet manifolds too much
the rougness of the manifold ensures the air and fuel mix well so you get a better burn

It is not something that i would get involved in to be honest
too much plishing on that side can actually decrease performance

can you polish alloy wheels?

It can be done
but alloy wheels re magnesium alloy

it depends on the mag content as to how well they polish

just so u guys have an idea what can be done just went and spent half an hour onthis rocker cover ... worst bit is the laquer may go get it dipped and stripped or sand blasted as its pretty tough on the old volvo engine

just had a quick go

That is magnifico....!!!! much better job than I did to my oil filler blanking plate..

PS the blanking plate will start to go rusty now...

As for the inlet manifold......Grinder/File/smaller file/Aluminuim Oxide paper....Almost any thing I could get my hands on...I'd change when I got bored of the previous impliment
Here's the results

The blanking plate is a Volvo part if you reckon a new one would be any better ...

PS - un-linked note - You can't buy the Oil filler to make a BTCC rep engine...

blakking plate will only rust if not protected ans sheilded from the elements

i intent to do this with a sealant to test it its a new product out so will be good to run the test
