After whipping my ABS pump off to get at the ECU, I noticed that the induction pipe to the turbo was a bit loose, so on further inspection I also noticed that there was a grommet with hoses and electrical connectors comming out of it that wasn't in the hole it should have been in, hence the turbo has been sucking in unmetered/unfiltered air - whoops! So in trying to shove it back I heard this small "crack", and a bit of plastic pipe come out. Some further investigation to judge the extent of the damage and "crack", another larger pipe snapped............so I now have this in my hand:-

Oh dear I wish I hadn't done that! Anyway it seemed that the best way to get it back in was to take the induction pipe off,

and invent a way of splicing the broken bits back together.

Which I did with some 4mm slilcon hose and a bit of my garden hosepipe.
Yay - it works now and cured my turbo lag and smokey exhaust........
Who said that necessity ISN'T the mother of invention.
I just hope it passes it's MOT now........
Cheers
