Had a bit of a disaster here, heard funny noises, clunking and the like, from the front end when changing direction, moving forward after reversing etc.
Checked it out, after ignoring it for a few weeks, to busy dealing with everyone else's mechanical problems, noticed the top mount's shot. Last time this happened it cost a fortune to get the dealer to do it.

I intend to give it my best shot in repairing it myself.

Anything in particular I should watch out for? Special tools etc??

Hi Mate it is relatively easy, if you have a decent enough tool kit, you will need a breaker bar or as i used a torque wrench, and some springs comppressors and a pair of moleys, remember to crack the large top nut first before you take the strut off the car ;)
