I know there is a few things flying around about this!
Is it time to set an official date and list?
It feels an age since I last made a 1/4mile event April last year, Im hoping to break 15 and get 14.5 or better.

It doesn't matter how much power you have, to be the fastest you have to race! So far, the fastest 850 T5 in the UK is Spesh's car.

but has he proven it on the 1/4?

i would like to see some times for comparison against mine.

mine is also knocking on 300bhp by the way, with another 250 ready on tap , but i doubt i'd have any engine left if i used the full potential of the nos kit
at the moment!!!

thanks adam, totally agree with you and so far i am the fastest t4 !

As far as i know he hasn't proved it, but only did a RR which came out at 304 whp, not bad for a 4 cyl 1.8 lol, he is now in the process of ditching the 19t and going over to Garrett, all will be revealed in March at Avon Park :B_steerin

Gary , a bigger turbo aint gonna help........ lol

only kidding.

i have never been a fan of the 19t route for a t4 as it only a standard turbo
still. a hybrid which is samller will always perform better. i have spoken to turbo technics already and they have fitted one to a t4 ...........

I take it this car has forged rods/pistons then? as I am still trying to find a reasonable cost route, and have had widly different cost quotes for them!

A lot of people make that mistake and put on a 19T it's ok for a very fast car but if you want a mental car then you have to look away from the 19T and fit Garrett with all the other bits,
I can't say too much as it isn't my car but there are 2 T4's with strengthened internals will be there in March.

what i really wanted was the autotech 420 upgrade.

best 1/4 with this setup in sweden is 11.5!

but the cost is a bit on the steep side....

so i have decided on my own route to massive power

it wont be ready for march though :frown:

and it is about time we sent out some proper high power t4's and t5's to the drapstrip so people can see what a volvo can really do

My moneys on Spesh, roughly half a second and 4mph faster on his old spec, with a better new one from what I gather.

So, how much gas are you on now then, 100/150, them standard rods must be quivering ;) lol.

Good to see folk pushing the boundaries though and seeing what the cars can do.

It's not quite as glitzy as that!!!

Imagine a dual carriage way with a single carriege way leading up to it and you stuck in the traffic. That's what it's like!! You sit in the traffic, and when you get to the dual carriage way (drag strip) you wait for the green light and go.

Or you can just watch from the stands eating a greasy burger. :)

hi, that's the whole point of the day !

£10 to enter (iirc) and £20 to register to run.

You need to be covered ie. trousers and jacket to run up the strip and cars needs to be leak free.

volvotuning
Monday 13th March 2006, 20:16
You just need to be covered, ie you can wear your gran's cardigan if you like, as long as you're covered. Helmets are only required if you're trapping at silly speeds.

Adam.
