I have a 1996 t5 wich had a timing belt change at 65000mls, could anybody advise me when it would next need changing?

Its every 80k iirc, 65k seems awfully early though.

That's what i thought. I bought the car with 72k so it was done before i bought it. I don't know if i should just get it done again just incase. I've been quoted £80, this sounds a bit cheap to me but it is from a volvo specealist.

All depends what they change, if its both belts and the tensioners and idlers then its very cheap especially if it includes the actual parts.

Continuing this thread, what are peoples apinion on changing the pulleys, tensioner during a timing belt change???

I know that garages now change as a matter of course, mainly to save any un-necessary warranty claims for failing pulleys, but what are peoples experience with Volvo gear???

Mine needs a change and just wonered if it is time or do I not need to worry??

Oh, she has done 150,000 now..... so it's the second change

Change them... I haven't heard of any failures myself, but for the money, is it really worth the risk?
