Weight of Volvo Engine

Does anybody know the weight of a Volvo Engine minus gearbox..?

Judge,
I'd guess about 150kg, what sort of stand is it we had 1 on a cheap engine stand for 2 years and it didn't fall over or break !

I bought the cheapest one from machine mart, did the job with my engine.

It's in the ballpark of 300lbs with all the goodies still on it, from what I remember of mine. Probably weighs less that that, actually... the crank is the single heaviest part by far.

I bought a cheap new one off ebay,for 30 quid I think.It held a 5.2 all iron Mopar V8 no problem!

Thanks... i was given a 350lb Sealey engine stand last week to hold the engine. I just wanted to make sure that it wouldn't buckle under the weight.....

Also off to buy a crane now.....stupid winch is too weak and unsafe...

Some of the Crane legs are weak as well mate so chose carefully ;)

2.5 motor is 153kg, 350lb is 159kg.....

I just about managed to lift one with my Dad from a trailer, about 10 foot and then drop it onto a crate. Boy it was heavy.

Sorry didn't read the big label on the stand......it said 750lbs not 350.... so it should be good enough then....shouldn't it?
