Why does the recirculation turn its self off after a few mins on my v70 p1?

Its an ex cop car so no theres no air-con but i thought in this weather it would make more sense to recirc the same warm air around the car..

But after a few mins the light goes out and its sounds different too.. :wtf:

You are supposed to switch recirc off after a fairly short period according to the handbooks, I assume this is some newer gizmo in case you forget (no car of mine has ever had one).

Mines an ex-PC V70 p1 too. Not noticed the recirc thing, I'll try it tomorrow.

If you keep the recirc on,the car will mist up badly,as it stops fresh air getting into the car.Maybe thats why it switches off?

It's a safety thing. Lack of fresh air will send you to sleep. A single press of the button will activate "temporary" recirc for going through long tunnels, smoky atmospheres etc. I recall there's an override to this but can't remember what it is - probably a double press or a longer press or something.
