I know this is not quite in the vein of the archetypal Volvo owner, but on a Vauxhall forum I used to post on when I had my Chavalier V6 they had a section called "I beat this" and people posted their various driving conquests or in some cases thrashings.
Before anyone says it’s juvenile and irresponsible it makes very entertaining reading and is quite interesting to read and I've seen a few posts on this forum of people describing times they’ve had little “competitions” with other motorists

Just an idea……..

Trouble is, people will then start the whole "I beat a <insert car> today blah blah" and then threads just desend into arguments when an owner or driver of said car says no way... etc etc!

We had a section on the old VT5 forum specifically for this and as Darren says it was a disaster!! People are far too quick to tell other that what they have beaten couldn't possibly happen because of X Y o Z despite the fact they weren't present at the time or have no clue as to the members driving ability!

I am with Moppy & Darren.
Fair enough if you did it on a track day, we'd like to hear about it - however...

I think it encourages racing on the Queen's highway which I feel as a forum is something not to be condoned. I am certain that many have done it at one time or another (including myself) but should not be put in print.

IMHO, You definately start to concentrate more on beating the other chap at the detriment of those around you.

And you never know who could be reading the info, police, your insurance company etc.

Ok ok ok ok I thought this would happen, but just an idea!! :troutslap :troutslap :troutslap

I've obviously disgraced myself and shown my true colours as the unruly Vauxhall driver I once was. :sinner:

I'm going to sit in my T5 and sulk now. :sorry:
