I'm going to install a set of HIDs on my 850 T5 estate and I just wanted to canvass opinions on where everyone fitted their ballast boxes please?

I know how to install them as I've got 3 sets on my other car, I am more worried about where to locate the boxes.

Thanks in advance.

I've got one on the battery (not great if you take your battery out everyday) and one on the ECU box - just like Siam.

I'm tempted to get a set for the fogs, lol !

Agree with the aboves.

There was a thread on Volvospeed showing a ballast attached to the vertical piece of metal infront of the power steering reservoir- DO NOT PUT IT THERE!

I found out that the vibration from the engine will shake bits off the circuit board, not good!

This is an old photo...

The drivers side box is wrapped round the fuse box. The other side is strapped to a vertical metal bracket in front of the battery. :)

Well I fitted a set into my main beam, a set into the full beam and set into the foglights.

I didn't lke the difference in colour between sets of lghts, so the only option was to put HIDs in all 3 :D

Hmmm, that's interesting as I am able to get them a fair bit cheaper that that these days.

So if anyone is after a set, let me know. ;)
