So, virtually no visible corrosion topside on my 1995 850 estate.. there was some underneath toward the rear two years ago but I’ve not had it inspected since by a Volvo specialist... went through the mot today just a few advisories but nothing related to bodywork... the old girl has (genuinely) done lesser than 100k miles and is in great nick, still flys like the proverbial brick... love this car and I’m very keen to reverse and stop any rot, it’s really a keeper... any thoughts and suggestions about corrosion and prevention will be greatly received...

I've just bought a Japanese import 850R which will need to be protected soon, so I'm also interested in first hand experiences.

I'm considering using these guys - https://www.rust.co.uk/product/cat/our-complete-rust-proofing-service-24 Either that or doing a waxoyl treatment myself, but getting the underside clean enough might be an issue as I don't have a steam cleaner. There are other companies doing this kind of treatment - what do people recommend?

Thanks

I bought a variable angle jet wash nozzle, jet washed the underside, allowed to dry, then used Bilt Hamber products such as Hydrate 80 rust killer, and UC clear spray which is breathable and doesn’t trap water like some products. Highly recommend. Or you can pay the professionals. I’m lucky in that I have a 2 post ramp to do the work. That makes it 10x easier.
