Hello all,

It occured to me the other day that my rear lights might look quite good tinted which would go with the dark colour of the car and the tinted windows, especially the tailgate window and rear windows which are pretty much black. Therefore -

1) Does anyone have tinted lights on their 850/V70, and if so piccies please!

2) Can you buy smoked/tinted rear light assemblys for the 850?

3) Is it feasible and legal to use tinting spray if not?

Cheers! :)

As far as I know it is legal, as long as they're not too dark i.e. black. I dont think that anywhere makes them so you'll have to buy some of that tinting spray.

hi
iv tinted my rear lights,
iv only done the top lights so far,
im waiting for spray tint to arrive,
i sprayed them with a light coat of satin black
then lacquered them, they dont look bad but not as good as i wanted,
i shall re do them wen i get proper spray tint,
it looks good with the black windows aswell

remember to leave the reflectors untinted otherwise you could get into bother with Mr. Plod

I've lightly smoked mine.... they are not completely black.. but to be honest I ran out of paint after painting another car...

Ahhh now that looks good! Shame you can't buy them anywhere, the idea of spraying them is starting to loose it's appeal.

Judge, have you lacqured your lights because they look quite shiney.

They are actually quite dull if you get close...

It's quite easy to use and also removes with nail polish remover if you co*k it up..
Nice warm room and plenty of fine coats and you'll get a perfect finish...

I'll be re-doing mine soon....
