V40 D3 5 cylinder 148bhp Tuning options

Ok so i know my 2013 V40 is a diseasel lol, but it is a good old 5 cylinder 2.0 Turbo 148bhp.

Does anyone know of any tuning options for these engines ? ive had a quick google but didnt find much.

I dont really like the idea of the plug and play tuning boxes, you dont really know what your buying.

It feels quite quick already with a lovely little growl from the 5 pot but id like it to be a bit faster and a bit more frugal ;-)

Starting arround '09 Volvo have implemented a pincode system that provides a toll on pretty much everything the car requires during its life to be taken and shared by Volvo themselves, their dealers and those independents that subscribe to partake in this extortion.

Unlike their competitors where pincodes are often model, even range specific Volvo have vehicle specific and additionally function specific pincodes. This practice contravenes the very cornerstones of EU competition rules but as yet remains unchallenged to any discernable extent.

This PINCODE BANDTRY prevents owners at any stage in the life of the vehicle from enjoying their cars to the full in so very many ways. Particularly in respect of introducing aftermarket software calibrations to increase engine outputs. The only calibrations that can be flashed in through the OBD port are those humdrum P* branded offerings available through dealers as their system provides the pincodes.

Otherwise the only alternative is to remove the ECU from the vehicle, open it and address the circuit board directly.
