Missing dipstick!

My first post!

I’ve just got a 2017 XC60, D4 AWD - so with the 5 pot engine.

It has no dipstick- well, a very short one, about which I can find virtually nothing on line. Is it possible to add a proper dipstick, has anyone done this? The car has an electronic way of doing it, but I guess I’m old fashioned and like to see /smell the oil.

first of all if you have been told this is a 5 pot you have been missold as volvo no longer produce a 5 pot, D4 is now a 4 cylinder engine.

secondly anything is possible if you are prepared to pay for it.

Er, you are wrong, simple as. My car is the old shape, ALL of these with AWD are 5 cylinder, the 4 cylinder ones are FWD. Car was built in April 2017. There are still a few around as unregistered with big discounts available.

Ah yes that horrid plastic dipstick that is a few inches long and requires a long thin arm to reach it :(

You may be able to retrofit from an earlier engine design, but would need clarification and part numbers.
