Will 8x18 alloys fit a 99 v70? I used to have 7.5 x18 medusas on with 215 35 tyres (et53) and no rubbing issues. Been offered some 8x18 with et49 but they'll stick out an extra cm. anyone had any experience putting 8j on a p1?

Just found out nebulas are 8x18 and 49et,so all should be good :)

I've run 8 x 18 on two consecutive V70 phase 1's.

Of course it's mostly down to offset (can't remember exactly what way mine are sitting now) but on both cars I get a tiny bit of wheel rub on full lock. I use 99% lock and it's grand.

My old car did not have the arches rolled, and on both the front and the back, the wheels used to catch the top of the arch lip, just enough to catch the plastic arch liner. Pretty quickly this wrecked the edge of the arch liner and the paint on the edge of the arch.

I learned from this mistake and I rolled all the arches on the new V70. Now the wheels do not catch the top of the arches at all, and my arch liners are perfectly intact.

On both cars however, the 18's insist on rubbing the front of the back arch whenever the car is unloaded and I hit a bump hard, or whenever it's loaded and I hit a bump not very hard.

Doesn't damage the arch very badly, but just pulls the lip out a wee bit. It's very annoying.

The car is lowered 30mm on Bilsteins and Konis, and has new bump stops etc. but this continues to be an issue.

I hope all this helps.

Just checked on will they fit and the 205 45's are 3cm bigger in diameter than the 215 35's I had on before with no issues (apart from a rock hard ride!). They are still slightly taller than 225 40's which we know rub on v70 p1's
From what I've learned from people with nebs on an 850 I should be ok with 215 40's. I'm buying just one wheel for £30 on weds in case it doesn't fit. Will keep you posted!

Just checked my tyres again to make sure. They are actually 225 40 18

So yeah, something narrower should definitely help to prevent rub.
