it was supposed to be one of those things that you connect an iPod to in the arm rest? iMax or something I forgot the name. A playstation 2 was mentioned in the paperwork maybe some of the extra wiring is to do with that??

Rear digital TV is mentioned in this post (http://forums.t5d5.org/topic/14444-dream3rs-r-project/?do=findComment&comment=278855) from that thread, I can't see much detail on it otherwise (although didn't spend much time looking tbh)

I too have thought about fitting 5mm spacers i will see how much the lock stops improve it first.
Our sat nav used to pop up but then i found the shut down in the menu and been fine since.

Looking forward to having the wheels done as there well over due but keep thinking about going for a set of 18's only thing is the ride is incredibly smooth with the 17's

Now the project s60r had iPd springs, that's a whole different experience, ok in small doses lol

I'm having nav issues on the project s60r pops up every time the car is started, not sure why though

Mine does that if I don't power the sat nav 'off' FIRST before switching the car 'off'.

If I start the car then switch on the sat nav......then power it 'off', it lowers and then the Sat Nav remembers the last state it was in. Switch off car and restart, Sat Nav stays down!

Even if you're missing the remote, just power off the Sat Nav first before switching off the car. If it then pops up on the next restart, I would try an RTI reload at your local dealer first. Cost will be about £80 (RTI software is part# 9438400 and costs £42.60 + Vat. Labour is around £25).

If that does not fix the problem then you'll need to send it away for a new PCB. (Cost around £180 for the PCB....£275 if you have to have a new screen also.)

Unfortunately, if you have to send it away for a new PCB, you'll need a software reload at Volvo again before it will work on the car's control's/remote.

I would first check to see if you have any RTI**** fault codes stored in your CEM, as these will be an indication of any RTI faults. Including COMMS faults between RTI and CEM.

This was my new down pipe Before fitting.

The headlight wipers it's worth a look to see if they are plugged in as if bumper cover is removed you need to unplug them .

Also on the fuel filter on the plastic fittings I put a bit of duck tape over them to stop dirt getting into the fitting, with any luck easy to remove next time .

The volvo one was £240 list + VAT I got it from FRF £192 + VAT but to be honest look at a hella one it's got 2 years on it lots cheaper, I only got it as I found it leaking a couple of days before Tim fitted one of his intercooler.

also have a good look at the lower hose as it can wear at the P clip on the gear box.

Yes but for some reason they just went straight down again the wipers must have been disabled as they do not do any rotation when screen wash lever is applied

Harvey
Wednesday 3rd May 2017, 23:05
The wiper motor is different on the R, the lead with the plug on is longer but you can fit standard S60 ones if you just move the wire a bit .

LeeT5
Wednesday 3rd May 2017, 23:07
To reset wipers is easy.

Just undo the 8mm bolts and remove them. Them lift wiper stalk to wash screen, this will automatically move the headlight wiper motors and they will stop in the correct position.
Then refit and tighten the arms and 8mm nuts.

Test. :)

Dunno about Vida but on mine I disabled the headlight wipers by pulling the fuse (because one of my wipers has seized and was making a constant loud buzzing). Downside being that the fuse is also for the adjustable leveling (mine are halogens so manual leveling). Might be worth checking if the fuse has been pulled on yours - it's in the fusebox on the drivers side end of the dash, you should be able to determine the correct one from the owners manual (but I'm sure you already know that :D).

(Sorry Pete, I never read all the post, just your reply from my email on my phone....I'd not seen that you'd already tried the reset Harvey suggested, then I suggested.)

After checking the fuse/s Gold'N'brown suggested....(though, I'd have thought they wouldn't work at all if this was pulled or blown)...I note that your saying BOTH wipers are dropping?

VIDA or software does not control these wiper motors, they only have two wires connecting them - Earth and a switched 12v feed.

To determine if the motors are at fault:

Remove the 8mm nuts, washer pipe and pull off the wiper arms complete with blades.
Bonnet open, unplug the wiper motor (behind headlights) and using a power probe (do not use a length of wire unless you have a fused link - if the motor is seized, you'll blow the wiper control fuse in the fuse box!) establish which side of the plug is switched feed by checking the feed from the plug on the cars side not the wiper motor side.

Check you're getting a good earth from the car supply plug to the wiper motor plug.
Check you're getting 12v switched feed for about 4-5 seconds. If you are, then power and earth are good and the fault lies within the wiper motors.

The readings should be the same for both sides.

If you're not getting a 12v switched supply then your problem lies in that circuit and most likely controlled by a relay.

To check the motors is simple. Now you know which wire supply is earth and live, just shove the power probe into the live side and switch on......the motor your probing should then oscillate continuously.

If both you're motors are doing exactly the same thing...ie dropping down, then it's likely you have a relay fault but I'd do the simple checks first to rule out the wiper motors.

I had similar issue with my PS wiper and it was a faulty motor. Got a used one for £15 ish from ebay and since everything back to normal. The motor was from a standard V70.

Here is a good article about the wiper motor repair and why these fail:

Regarding the spray nozzle, AFAIK cannot be fitted without customization.

Honestly haven't a clue tbh with p2 settings, on the old t5s the wipers just work regardless if the lights are on or not but will be trying it with the lights on.
Then failing that I will be doing Lee's method

Only issue I came across as no where does a manual radiator any more is they are slightly wider making it harder to get the intercooler hoses on so had to slightly trim some plastic to make sure it was a good fit.

And second on the list is find why is rubbing badly when turning left on the drivers front wheel new lock stops fitted but that isn't the problem as it's rubbing further up in the arch above the metal plate and starts doing it from about 40% of lock

When you're sat in the car with no passenger the right hand front will squat slightly more, especially if you're a big unit ;), this will definately cause excess rubbing in the arch. Coupled with normal spring sag and poor alignment. There could be excess wheel camber on the right side more than the left.
I would take the car to an alignment center and have them check and adjust with YOU sat in the car.

Did the haldex oil and filter today nice easy job to do the took all of 15min on ramp

That looks disgusting! Clearly it's never been changed. If I were you Pete, I'd use the recent Haldex oil change as a flush and drive the car for 100 miles then do another oil change with another filter. You never get 100% of the oil out, so when you drain it the second time I bet it's totally black again!?

Top engine mount poly or genuine ?

I'd go Poly but not Powerflex. I'm guessing your top mount is the later square type? There's just too much movement in those tops mounts for my liking, they're too slack. You could out the alloy bush holder and change it for an earlier round one? Loads on eBay and then you'll have more of a choice of bushes to try in the round ones.
I currently have an Australian Superpro bush but it was needed as it's slightly softer than the Powerflex yellow due to my Top mount rear bush being PF Black series and the mounts on the strut turrets are solid alloy IPD brackets!
If yours are still stock, then I'd go straight in with the PF yellow square mount. You won't get any engine vibration. I definately recommend stiffening them up though and fitting the PF purple bracket bushes. They remove about 80% of the engine brace play without compromising engine vibration.

To be honest, In my experience, you've gotta play around a little with the engine mounts as no two setups are the same and everybody's opinions are different.

I can tell you that I have absolutely no engine vibration and a solid engine brace. PF black series small rear top mount bush and Superpro blue front top mount (Round) bush.
It's a big improvement with a hell of a lot less engine movement, no excess vibration and great throttle response with smooth gear changes.

Yes that's another thing on the list is the alignment I need to replace some bushes on the rear so once there done I will go get it done.

Yes the haldex filter will be getting flushed out again shortly I will disconnect the prop as I believe I've read some where that they need 're greasing the joints so while that is off I can also remove the pump and clean the screen on that.
The next time I order from volvo I will also be getting new diff oil while I'm there.

I noticed pfv do two types of poly bush one yellow and the other
Purple also they can come with a new mount do most people with the square mount just normally replace it instead of pushing the old bush out?

As for the strut brace I also need to address that as it's very slopy and has way too much moment

As for flickr: go to your own photostream, open picture then click on share (arrow) then select BBcode and copy the code entire code.
then edit/cut the piece of code as the attached file shows.

the above link is pointing to your photo album = photostream on flickr.
You'd need to go a step further and enter into the album, click on the picture and then copy the BBcode.
the correct links ends with the .jpg

Have you been moving them from wherever you posted them from?

Potentially this thread could be ruined :frown: :slap:

here is your answer Lee:

"If you have visited a website recently that displays images hosted on Photobucket, or are embedding images hosted on Photobucket on your own, you may have had a rather rude awakening one day as Photobucket decided to block these images from being displayed on third-party sites......."

I said they should have just charged a reasonable fee, but $399 a year most people just won't pay it .
I've just cancelled my photobucket account been paying for it for a couple of years but not any more..If they are removing the links.

hmm...... do you have a free flickr account by any chance? That's the only difference I can think of. I have a pro account and I can link any of my pictures individually.

My account is a free one and I'm still ok.

As a precaution, I'm downloading all my albums from their website and backing them up.

Absolute @rseholes.
As for the $399 per year, they can stick it up their @rse.
Something like a tenner a month, people may have been able to stomach. But that's just taking the piss as far as I'm concerned.

All Pete's Gul thread will be ruined too now.
My account seems ok at the moment, but it'll come, I'm sure.

Forums are already on their knees these days with Facebook groups attracting a bigger and bigger share. Sadly this may be one of the final nails in the coffin for many.

Yes Lee, you should do a backup, your topic can be ruined easily if this ££££ aproach by p£££bucket will be enforced on all registered users...
However my comment above, was to point out, that Pete might have a free Flickr account and the functionality I've described earlier isn't available for him.

More to this, it seems currently Flickr is one of the viable solution for those who want's their pictures linked to third party sites. At least Yahoo/Flickr has the proper technical background to support the significant load increase on their servers. For how long that's a billion dollar question...... Additionally, Verzion is on the way to take over Yahoo...

Took the car for a short drive yesterday and the difference on tick over is much better tbh it was a little lumpy before its now nice and smooth the old one way valves did seem to function correctly but fitted the new ones anyway, so weather its them or the new plugs thats improved it i dont know but its certainly much smoother now.

I need to take it for a decent run to see if the new tcv has sorted the boost spiking

Go to flickr Pete, just as easy to then post pics up, I'll make you a vid of how to do it and send it to you if you like, providing the net keeps working here as we have been having massive issues here lately.
