Why not donor everything to the R. It'll be worth a lot more than a T5 in the long term?

The size of the job donoring is putting me off, ive got the tools but no ramp, never done a job quite as big as this before.

That's a nice looking car from what I've seen in the pic's on VOC, certainly worthy of a new engine and although looks a daunting challenge to change, it's not that bad to do once you get at it, mines been in and out a few times now and is about to come out again now, everything unplugs easily and is pretty straight forward then raise the body and roll the engine out complete with the subframe (a supermarket cage trolley section is most useful here for maneuvering the assembly) and bingo. You can take it out the top, as some have, but I've always gone downwards so couldn't possibly comment on which is easier. Good luck with which ever route you take, personally I'd keep it as they are getting harder to find and you'll probably regret it getting shot of it in the long run.

Makes the job a tad easier, but I have dropped the engine and subframe out of a V70 on the drive with the aid of a trolley jack, couple planks of wood and some concrete blocks, was easy enough and just took my time doing it.
