Thanks Guys.
I've kept it looking as close to stock as possible too. Even under the bonnet looks stock as I've used black silicone hoses, and opted for all other bolt ons in black too.
By next week I'll try to post some more images in my garage for viewing.

Very nice, I didn't realise the Nebulas would fit ?
Also what plasma coils have you fitted by the way ?

uqj83l
Wednesday 25th January 2017, 20:51
Hi
The coils are: http://www.vivaperformance.com/plasma-direct-coilpacks-5-cyl-engines-pd5004001r/
They are from the supplier okadaprojects.com where they detail the spec and advantages of plasma coils.
I'm also running an IPD HD TCV which i missed off the list.
Hope that helps.

The nebulas only fit with the spacers mentioned in my list. I think the minimum is 10mm front and rear to get them to clear the calipers. I went for 15mm on the rear because a wider rear suits the car better.

Hi
Because my old turbo was cracked all the way through the housing, Owens wouldn't work on it as they would not be able to provide a warranty on a cracked turbo. So I they bought a replacement K24 new and worked from that. Hence my cost spiralled. If your turbo isn't cracked it should be around the £500 mark I would think. 31330

Similar to the s60r I recently bought, had a billet wheel fitted by turbo dynamics, but original turbo had issues so previous owner bought a new k24 to start from (new exchange), did 20 miles and spun a big end bearing. So I've purchased a good used one to replace it with and now have a virtually new k24 with billet wheel.

Hi Ricardo.
I would say if your plan is run the car stock it isn't worth it. However if your intention is to go up from OEM boost levels and potentially stage 3, then it is worth it. It is an expensive upgrade which only makes a small difference. But as Tesco say "Every little helps"
I bought them because I wanted every part of my car from air filter to exhaust to be as effective as possible.

Apologies but I'm not familiar with the UK plates. After a quick search, the AA website shows, it was registered between 01 Sep 2003 and End of Feb 2004.
Additionally mine has a 05 Irish reg number, while the car is 04.

is that not low numbers for a hybrid k24 (brand new)... I made more power with an older k24 and not a hybrid plus seals have gone. I'm still not convinced that the numbers i got where accurate from amd essex.

I'll be going to JF Automotive next for a dyno when i get other turbo.

uqj83l
Tuesday 31st January 2017, 21:39
Hi,
Leaking seals won't reduce your power output, nor will a cracked exhaust housing.
The hybrid wheel is much more aggressive in the way it delivers the power. It spools a lot quicker, and therefore you have power on tap from low RPM. The car was mapped to 20psi max with no boost spikes as I wanted a safe and reliable yet powerful engine output.
I note you had a faulty TCV when dyno'd which was causing a spike of 25psi at 3000rpm, which could be why your torque is 30lbs higher at that rpm?
My car was also tested in 4th and not 5th gear. Not sure that would make any significant difference in recorded output?
I don't think a hybrid wheel will give you 400hp. You'll have to upgrade to a bigger ball bearing turbo for those types of gains.
Like you said, it's good for a 14year old car! (Assuming we have lost some hp over the years)
If you fancy a meet sometime then PM me as we are both in Kent.

Hi, How good is the Viva lower chassis brace -front, Has it made by ultra-racing,
Does it help?
Thanks Dave

uqj83l
Saturday 4th February 2017, 19:30
Hi Dave.
The UR lower chassis braces are good. They do exactly what it says on the tin. I have both the lower front and lower rear braces both of which are made by ultra racing.
It would be ideal if the rear one braced across the tunnel area. But that's not possible on the R's if I remember correctly. There is one that bridges across the tunnel area on the non- AWD models.
They both stiffen the chassis up. Not enough for me. So I added a strut brace too, and the IPD subframe bush inserts. I definitely recommend the inserts, or solid subframe bushes.
The P2s are far too soft and spongey IMHO. I've bought and fitted every mod available to stiffen up the ride.
Hope this helps.

Hi Thanks for the info
I have got the rear under body brace to put on my s60 D5 THAT I WILL BE FITTING AS SOON AS IT GETS WORMER,

will the front lower brace make very much difference ?
Thanks Dave

uqj83l
Tuesday 7th February 2017, 18:42
Hi Dave,
The front lower UR brace will make the front of your car "behave" better when cornering.
The car will feel "flatter" under hard cornering.
It will make a noticeable difference. It all depends on how hard you normally corner....

Yes it's a lovely mod, I threaded the top of mine before install, spent ages debating buying one then they went down in price around September last year. Hi Guys,
I got bored again so decided to vinyl wrap my car. I wanted an new age urban camouflage look, but also wanted it to be subtle as it's my daily driver at times. So I invented my own New age 'stealth' urban camouflage design using a combination of Matt, Satin and Gloss black finishes. I bought some satin and Matt 3M 1080 vinyl, did a couple designs on paper and went for it. I'm pleased with the results. Let me know your thoughts....

I think it looks a bit cheap and lowers the tone of what is a premium brand in Volvo.

Maybe it'd work on an Impreza or Evo....

don kalmar union
Sunday 15th October 2017, 10:23
Another punter falling for the 'premium' nonsense in Volvo's curent PR where every press release has the phrase ' Volvo, the premium car manufacturer' repeated to the point it is pretty damn tedious.

Concentrate on making some stuff that garners the respect they despairingly want and the world may see them that way. Downside is it is a chinese product.... or heading very much that way, and is being rapidly caught up by the likes of Kia, Ford, Peugeot/Citroen and others. None to difficult to match those brands foolishly seen as premium...... taste is important and Volvo have historically not shown that when they have in the past made the wrong design choices and ended up looking quite vulgar. Think P*......

The car looks pretty good to me and in no way lowers the tone.... job well done.

Don.

The White Knight
Sunday 15th October 2017, 16:22
'Premium' is a very subjective term.

If you were to sit in a P2 R then a Kia, Ford,Pug, Citroen - I'm sure most would consider the Volvo to be premium.

I think the latest models coming out from Volvo are stunning, the design world is certainly taking note.

Back to the topic at hand, any other opinions on this 'camo wrap' ?

Thanks for the feedback guys. I’ve attached an inspirational image/link of an RS7 which inspired my design, it looks great on what could be deemed as being a premium car.
Good vinyl wrapping is key to making any car look good. Poor quality vinyl and poor execution will make any premium car look naff.

Over the moon. I’ve not got a bad word to say about the product. Fidgety to fit, but manageable for someone with basic skills and a dremel type of device.
Just be careful you don’t damage the sides of the centre console where the paint can chip easily.
