OK,just got 30 minutes..took the car for a run and left it ticking over outside for 20 minutes or so.
Temperature in front of the cat (nearest engine on the weld) 350 degrees
Temperature at rear of cat (nearest silencers on weld 300 degrees
Temperature of Pipe behind cat 260 degrees
Does the team think my Cat is goosed?

Sounds like it.

Isn't the exit usually hotter than the entry?

It would be pretty uniform across the entire cat, the fact it's that much hotter at the front would suggest it's blocked. Has the performance dropped off at all?

That video I posted said 175-250 degrees C on the upstream weld & 40-65 hotter at the downstream weld for a working cat (sounds a bit exact but I'm just the messenger)

My understanding is that its as the experts say...knackered...

The exhaust gases should be hotter POST cat, not pre cat. Approx' 50-100*C hotter, indicating a chemical reaction and a working catalyst.

So, to conclude, your CAT is knackered mate.
