The 240 t5 developed a miss fire this morning, I managed to get the car back home. So this afternoon I've changed over the plugs and coil packs but still it miss fires with a afr of 18 @ idle so she's running lean.

Could it be a injector or two not supplying enough fuel ? Or I'm barking up the wrong tree 😊

I have some experience of T5 engines having running problems related to the slightest misplacement of earthing leads in their natural environments.

If you have a transplant into an older RWD car then that might be an area to check.

Here is a video of the afr's on start up.

And this is the fuel pressure at idle.

Would I be right in thinking, that the pressure should be 3bar min in your video? and is the mixture ok at other speeds/loads or is this just an issue at idle. Just thinking about the vac/pressure pipe to the fuel pressure valve being ok

The fuel pressure should be 3 bar minus vacuum so at 2.5 bar the fuel pressure is about right.

The more worrying thing was the afr's rising then dropping like a stone, at 3k rpm the afr's climbed to 16

Anyway it's all sorted now and going like a rocket.

What was the cause then?
