I've been waiting for these Brembo Drilled discs to be in stock.

I have noticed the same seller sells Kinetix Drilled discs. Anyone had any experience with these? Never heard of them... Also there £50.00 cheaper.

For the cost of the brembo kit, you could buy some 2nd hand xc90 calipers, cheap 336mm disks and mintex pads for the front and make a real difference to your braking power.

Just a thought ;)

Never considered that mod could be done with R's also. Got to say the brakes on mine aren't that impressive considering they are 4-pot brembos...was expecting it to pull up sharp just by looking at the middle pedal. They aren't crap by any means just not what I was expecting. One for the future

Ever considered that fact you may have a weak brake master cylinder?

When I replaced my stock brakes for Brembo discs and pads the 'pulling to a stop power' was notably better. Coupled with a full brake fluid flush the difference was night and day!
I am going to consider replacing my brake master cylinder soon and maybe, possibly my Brake servo, as over time, the seals become hard and the reaction time inside the cylinder due to worn seals must play a big part in how quickly it transmits the flow to the four corners of the car?

The other problem with P1 and P2 models is the weak bulkhead. Every action has an equal and opposite reaction....so the bulkhead flexing slightly doesn't help.

Consider also, with more electronics involved in braking systems nowadays, the pedal feel and responsiveness is always going to be different to that of a conventional, mechanical braking system.

Could be that Lee, or could be just as I got out of a lighter car into this one. Rx7's also suffer from bulkhead flex. I am usually pretty easy on brakes but just noticed a bit of extra effort to stop compared to what I'm used to. Fluid change will be the first port of call as the discs appear fine although are not Brembos/Volvo OE by the look of them

Didn't know that could be done. There not as pretty as the Brembo callipers and not even 4 pot.

Much sharper initial bite.
I'm happy with one massive pot, 4 small pots with brembo on them look good on paper but don't knock it till you've tried it :)

Just to add , if you press the brake pedal 4/5 of times with the engine off no lights on the dash, then turn the key to on dash lights on but engine not running can you hear the vac pump run for 10-30 secs ?, the vac pump is down by the gearbox on the left chassis leg.
The vac pump is required as there's no vac from the engine when the engine is on boost you also could have a one way valve fault on the hose.
If the cars left for a hour or so do you still have any servo assistance left on the brake pedal before you start it .

I'll check that out Harvey, cheers

I received these discs and pads over the weekend. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/252300529067?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT

The Brembo set have gone up price, so thought i'll give these Kinetix but all came in Mintex boxes... They look good quality!

So I decided to paint the discs black...

So far i'm impressed with the discs but still need to put some more miles on them.

Next is to refurb my pegs.
