Hi guys
Im sure this has been mentioned before but im after a bit of specific advice... I bought a s60r exhaust manifold ages ago for my 850 build and have just noticed 2 cracks inside the manifold :(

So basically is this a problem or can I just use it as they arent showing in any way on the back side of the manifold.
could they be welded?
could I just port out my original t5 manifold for similar performance?

Iv posted pics of both manifold for reference

Thanks all!

It's totally normal for small cracks like those to be there, I have just ported my one out recently and though there were no cracks visible before I started grinding, as I went on I found a few. As long as they don't go right through, it should still have a long service life ahead. Cast can be welded but I would say that it is a specialist job as the casting would need even heating before any welding is done to prevent further cracking or distortion. If should be fine as it is.

Ok that's good to hear thanks buddy! There are no marks, lines, bulges or discolouration to the back side of it so hopefully pretty superficial. Tbh if it only lasts a year so long as it doesn't render the car undrivable or a bit breaks off and trashes the turbo I don't mind too much

I had a standard 850 t-5 one crack and burn through but it had done about 250,000+ miles so a pretty long lasting item in my book, even with the harsh conditions turbocharging causes to these engines and ancillaries
