Hi Peep's hope you guys are all good long time no post lol, We now have another Volvo in the family, I bought this for her today as a Valentines gift, Its done space ship mileage lost of little things wrong with it but its a good car underneath, It will keep the miles off her Nissan X-Trail and my Mb.

Gave it a machine polish and cleaned up the interior as it was the most disgusting one ive had by a long shot. Anyway here it is. 2001 2.0 Lpt Manual c70

Looks great gav what's the problem with the micro switch

One of locating hooks each side hood didnt flip right down so went the wrong side of where it locks down and broke the plastic spring flapper that hits the micro switch, SO got to get a new one as the hood wont lock all the way down at the back,

Manage to manually press the switch whilst a friend pressed the button on the dash.

Well little update ref the temp transmitter, She's still not blowing hot through the Air vents, Bottom rad hose and top rad hose are very hot, Matrix hoses to and from are hot.

Floor is not wet inside, no leaks.

Takes a while to to reach engine temp whilst stationary then drop back when driven, so im thinking thermostat, Has anyone fitted just a stat on these? as i think its a complete housing??

Well the only vaguely broken bit on mine is the passenger side sun-visor. Nice car mind.

Wow what a different car! Must of had a Dail a MOT last time as the front brakes were totally knackered, and the rears warped, The rear pads had about 2mm of material left, and some numpty had fitted Pads only last time on the front.

Problem being the front were so badly lipped they destroyed the new pads and provided very little braking.

Next on the list is the stat housing and wishbone, I've also managed to source the micro switch for the roof finger's crossed this will be here friday.

I'm getting a nice collection of knackered bits n pieces now lol, Did the thermostat and it wasn't to bad a job, i replaced the knackered torx bolts with 10mm's so will be alot easier if its needed to be removed again in the future.

This how the old housing looked, its the later style which has a insert built in. The engine temp now stays at 3 oclock at all times although i'ts still blowing warm not hot air into the cabin, This i think is down to a Partially blocked radiator.

I've tried a flush and refill but it hasn't really helped much, Matrix pipes are hot so is th Top Rad hose but the bottom one is just warm. Soooo a Rad is on order.

All the knocking sounds over bumps was indeed the nsf lower wishbone again replaced this with a struggle the ball joint didn't want to come out of the hub but i got pikey with it lol and out it came eventually.

Wife has really taken to the c70 which tbh i didn't think she would, Fixed the roof with a replacement micro switch which are attached the the lifting arms at the rear so now all good.

Could really door with a New window reg in the driver's door but i've adjusted it and all good so far as it was coming to far up.

Done various little jobs and painted the Calipers and hubs to tidy it, Decided also to crack on with cleaning the engine bay up i also gave the actuator a tweak on the turbo whilst i was there so its going much much better pmsl ;)
