Hi ,
new to this forum but not new to serious performance tuning
with a blank piece of paper whats best road to serious power with a 245 glt
my biz is -a citreon /pug tuning specialist --so dont, worry about getting into detail
gmcmotorsport.co .uk --also specialise in supercharging .stand alone ecu.s etc etc /
my older brother + i,m 64, wants his 245 glt making into a tarmac terrorist --he had all sorts of fancy cars ,but just loves the old 240
we were volvo dealers from 1979 -1994 ,when volvo decided to dump the smaller rural dealers-
so any links or help as to where to start from --
i don,t really wannt to reinvent the wheel ,unless i have to-- then I would probably fit a v8(jag) in it +a wiff of boost ,say 0.6bar and we would seeing close to 500 @flyweel .
any good ideas on g/box,s and axles +lsd choices would be good
thank you in advance for your help

easiest and cheapest option is a b230fk/ft swap, m90 box and a host of upgrades to turbo 18/19t and so on, T5/VXR injectors. This will see you close to 300bhp with reliable and cheap power.

I've always liked the idea of a V8 240, M5 lump or perhaps the V8 from the XC90 if you were sticking with the Swedish theme :)

main problem could be finding the getrag m90? g/box to take big power
anyone know if the 960 dohc 6 pot lump ifts ?

so you are saying find a 940/740 turbo car and swop most bits then up grade as required

You can always use the whiteblock T5 engine, quite a bit more work involved fitting it but its been done a few times.

anywhere i could find out exactly what would be needed -t5 is FWD so ex manifold comes to mid as first problem
do the 16v lumps bolt directly to m90 g/box ?

The 16v lumps are red blocks for you will need to get a red block m90.
For the 20v t5 you will need a white block m90 I know a guy who has every thing for a t5 set up.
If your wanting decent power up to 400 reliable ide got for the t5 if your wanting more than that there's two options
Either
16v red block fairly expensive to do it right.
Just fit a v8 with a big supercharger

There is / was a chap that made an adaptor plate to fit the 6sp 300z box.

You can use red block box if you buy the adaptor plate for it.
