It started out all politely keep our distance from the cars and then about 16:30 we opened all the touring cars ourselves and a frenzy of photographs of the engines and engine bays

Oh there will be more to come. all slightly tipsy having just returned from bars in Gothenburg.

Firstly I must say what an amazing trip, best two days in a long time, even if it was nearly £7 a pint in Gothenburg, pleasure meeting more Volvo nuts even if there was the odd character and a massive thanks to Steve (Ettiene) for organizing.

Great pictures keep them coming I'm glad you all enjoyed it but £7 a pint would kill most of us northerners at least for next time you'll know to smuggle in the alcohol 1

So while the rest upload just a little summary.

Total trip cost approx £350-400 bills still coming Im sure, Sweden isnt the cheapest.

Flying was a good option, however seeing Saamon arrive in his car made me wish I had driven!

Hotel was fanstastic 4* in Centre of Gothenburg at roughly £90 quid including breakfast and all you can drink Coffee. What a beautiful place too, very friendly people. Food was fanstastic we had a all you can eat Chinese and a beer for 184 Krona which was only about £15 (probably the cheapest experience of the trip!) followed by an evening on the ale trying various beers until the early hours of the morning. (not cheap at around 6-8 quid per drink)

Volvo museum was truly epic, lots to see and could have spent hours there, good price at a tenner. Disspointing part was little or no history on the cars on display, however we did find the original P1800 had a "topfart" of 174kph :)

Next was the Volvo factory tour and Brand experience, this again was very good, the blue train toured us around the factory to see body shops and various elements of the assembly line. Most automated which was interesting to watch. Also found out all cars are made to order and that start to finish take approx 40 hours. 10 hours build, 20 hours paint and 10 hours assembly. The brand experience showed us everything Volvo offered and the future including safety and design.

The best part by far I think all will agree was the driving Centre. 1 hour of blasting around (within reason) on a track with approx 20 cars to choose from.

Just a whistle stop I know but bottom line is I'd do it again and recommend it to anyone who fancies it.

It's been a fantastic two days, organising such an event is pointless without all the people going throwing themselves into the experience, which everyone did whole heartedly.

Everyone had fun, at the Volvo events and in the evening when we where quite literally crying with laughter, mostly at Charlie who is always ready to see the funny side of things and the brand experience.

Hopefully some of you will attend the next trip and we shall maybe look into a two night trip next time

Your not going to believe this but we genuinely didnt encounter many at all, not worthy of a photo anyway! I actually had a mission from work to get a photo with a Swedish hottie and failed miserably... the best arses sadly were seen at the airport going home :(

So it starts with the wrong hire car. Thought there was no way I was sitting in a super mini with 4 other blokes for two days, so through work I had the option to get this for 75% cost. Following an OK nights sleep in a nice hotel (just too close to the trams) it was off to the Volvo Brand experience. On message the Style, safety, Environment, innovation was expertly communicated. I had an issue with the fact they had a performance division, which seemed to get ignored by the demonstration... maybe next time:
