Hi all, I know a lot of you on here have been involved with upping the power on the I5 engine, Ive done a few improvements on my 95 855 T5 over the last year or so. Its a healthy 75K mile engine, Ive done a stage 0 as well as white injectors, A 16T (Standard straight flange manifold) and an HLM304 remap, Its boosting to the end of the white section on the dash gauge which i believe is about 17psi, Just wondering what sort of BHP/Torque it would be putting out based on others experience of the upgrades i have done? I realise theres alot of factors that can affect the power output but im just after a rough ballpark figure, Cheers

You should be at about 275bhp

I'd say 260 ish.
Mine was mte stage 2 with 3" dp. That was 272 bhp.
All depends on which dyno you take it too, some could say 300 just to make you happy. ;)

Pretty much same as mine when I started off, 255/260 but mine was auto so it was a guess on RR dyno, that was a long time ago and many ££££ since

I once asked Jan Woth who made the website below what sort of power I could expect from my S70 T5 (16T staight flange, although M4.4 management)

Decent remap + cat back - 270 hp / 400 Nm

http://www.wothrline.com/main/main_projects.htm
(check out what sort of work it takes to get to 300 hp with an 18T)

I also asked Thomas Alsterfalk of TME for his opinion on what a 70 mm downpipe + 100 cell cat would get me on top of the above

(TME) Remap & full (TME) exhaust - 280 hp / 420 Nm

http://www.tme.se/e_main.htm

That is running about 1.2 barg of boost. None of this is 'gospel' just educated guesses from guys who have been doing it a long time (not me I am a cabbage). The car was an auto so it was a waste of time taking it on a dyno

The exhaust is very important to get rid of the extra heat, even just a catback will help. If you have a standard one, power will be lower that these here numbers.

Thanks for taking the time to get back fella's, Much appreciated. I normally get fed up with my cars pretty quickly but i really do like the 855, Ive been casually looking for a replacement (Keeping my 855 TDI as a hack) but there is nothing out there that IMO can do everything my T5 can for the money. Mines only a 2 previous owner car with a full VSH up to me buying it, It goes as fast as i want and i can cart loads of gear around in it when i have to, It really is the most capable car ive owned to date and ive had a lot of cars over the years :) (Also it lives outside and i dont have to worry about it rusting away!)

Don't worry about pub figures mate, someone will always have more. Just enjoy it when you can, as long as it makes you smile when you humiliate the jap cr*p that try it on is all that matters

Im not worried about pub figures mate, Thats why ive not stuck it on a dyno, Even debadged it! I sold my R33 GTS-T last year, It had a stage 1 RSP remap, Bigger I/C, Exhaust, Alloys etc,etc Was dyno'd with 345 bhp at the wheels, TBH at 50 yrs old i started to feel a bit of a nob driving it, The car was mint (Back to bare metal repaint done by my brother in Nismo red, Totally rust free shell etc) I like the fact that my 855 looks understated and i really cant find anything else i like thats not in my face so to speak! Heres a pic for anyone thats interested:

It was mate but there was 1 thing that i didnt like about it, It had a very low scuttle/Dash, Perhaps its a Japanese thing as they tend to not be as tall as us Brits, I never could sit low enough in it, It always felt i was sitting 'on' it! Even with GTR front seats and i didnt want to start hacking it about, Went like stink though and handled superbly with its lowered eibachs and Hicas all still there and working, RB's sound absolutely lovely decatted with a sports system especially when they come on cam :)

I like a bit of 'Jap Crap', previously had a WRX going to look at an RX7 soon I wonder if the dash is low on that also

A russian pal of mine has an R33 & he never complained although he isn't that tall

I couldn't fit in an rx7.
Absolutely loved my gts even if it was a drift slag. Always remember 2 occasions, first was coming out of work on a Saturday evening to find an empty frosty Airbus car park (employs 1700 people so imagine the size of it) was the best 15 mins of my ownership, even if it did nearly cost me my job. Lol
Second was again coming home from Airbus, biff is chilling listening to the Liverpool game on the radio & a car comes flying up behind me. 3rd gear, big bit of lead foot followed by a tidy drift & a bit of flame. Next min the blue lights came on. After the police officer had calmed down about me melting his paint on the front bumper he asked me all about the car.
I had to sell it, it was a bit lively & I'd already written off my m3 Evo a few years back once the wet weather came. My balls outweighs my talent with rear wheel drive.
Yours looks a stunner. :)

Seem to recall i fitted 265/35x19's on the rear, That helped to put the power down!

Think mine were 245/45/17 & they were slippy slippy. Mine was only modded with an exhaust & induction kit.

Got this today from my neighbour, I had too, Dirt cheap  He's bought a newer one to replace it! (Still keeping my 855 though!)
