If anyone knows why my car burns oil only in the winter, could you please educate me, or direct to previous thread. During the winter I have to top up the oil, but no other servicables. During the summer, do not have to touch oil or servicables.

Burning oil to me - lots of white & blue smoke plus the accompanying odour. Especially obvious when at traffic lights at tickover (even when engine thoroughly warm). When driving briskly, do not notice (unless dispersed due to brisk pace!).

Hi,
I am not sure if my 96 t5 is actually burning oil, but the cab today was really smelling strongly of burn oil/petrol, particularly with the blower on.

I really don't want to have to endure the pong for very long, so I would welcome and ideas.

Regards to all.

Turbo oil seal or the turbo return oil seal could be your problem / s !

When oil is burning it will vent through the vents into the cabin when the blower is on !

Hope this helps your search mate.
