So as I've been struggling to remove the cylinder head I now have one sheered bolt on the turbo as I was just going to lift the head with the manifold but I also found two rounded nuts on the manifold itself from previous owners efforts. So I'm left with two options, scrap it or go balls out and haul the whole engine out. Naturally I've gone for the later as I couldn't be without my R so at some point soon it's going down my workshop once some space has been made and the hard great will begin. Luckily my mate I share the workshop with has offered to help on one condition, full strip down and rebuild with forged internals, bigger turbo etc. Sounds like a plan to me so that's the idea. Finally put all my ambitions for the car in action, may take a while but think its going to be worth it.

Think Colin was thanking you due to the fact that you're going to be doing a proper engine build.

Big fan off all things mental, is our Colin ;)

But it's the start of a good project, and they're a bit thin on the ground around here at the moment :)

Ah right, sorry the thankyou confused me, been a long day lol. Yeah I have the space and tools so why not do something special with the old boy. It'll pretty much be a ground up project. Mainly concentrating on the running gear, brakes, suspension as I don't think the exterior needs any mods as it is, just a little tlc really. I'll be doing it on a kind of budget tho, buy used parts and refurbing them. No doubt I will be asking many questions here though and generally being annoying lol. I am interested in what you've done using a charger and might look into it if you don't mind me picking your brain and stealing your ideas lol. Should be a fun project though. Unfortunately my workshop is full at the moment as we're stripping a couple of lotus's and rebuilding a Mitsubishi GTO so wont be starting the R any time soon.

I'll try my best to keep you all updated. I can't upload pics here though. I'm using a Nokia so maybe that's why lol

Good luck with it. I took my engine out to replace the clutch as it was easier to get to the AWD parts with it out. Currently it's out for a new engine, all work being done on my parents driveway with minimal tools, so in a workshop you'll have no problems :)

Use an external provider like photobucket. Most have an app that you can install on your phone to make uploading easy

Never thought of Photobucket. My situation is I live on the top of a hill 9 miles from any form of civilisation and my R Is sitting on axle stands on uneven ground so the sooner I can shift it the better.
