Went into a Volvo indi yesterday to get a quote on a cambelt replacement on my 97 V70R - I asked if they'd change the water pump as well and they said unless its leaking - they wouldn't recommend it. Out of all the T5's they've worked on - they rarely replacement them.

I'm quite happy to pay to have it done - but there's no point throwing money at it if its not a requirement. Does anyone know the truth on this?

Probably true as the replacement would be remanufactured. The one on your car, if showing no wear, would be better than one of those!
