Fitted a k&n cone filter to my s70 t5 volvo pre me7. Was expecting it to flutter and make a noticable sound but can barely hear it. Anything i can do? Car currently has no dumpvalve so was thinking by putting this k&n it should have made more of a fluttering noise?

removing the re-circ valve from the turbo and fitting a blanking plate will give flutter ( I'm not getting drawn into whether this will reduce turbo life or not, I run one like this and see no problems, but still sceptical about it), a simple job really or remove the sound deadening from the bonnet to here the improved induction roar

I can turn the chatter off with a flick of a switch when it gets annoying mate.

It was more surprise than anything, I wasn't expecting the 3" downpipe to make that much of a difference.

On an early phase 1 S/V70 with no cabin filter just put the heater on fresh air flow central vents as the air box/ cone filter is just by the scuttle vents!

It does make a difference and you can just shut it closed when bored with the noise...
