The thing is your conversion may be more difficult as Judges X40 is a 2001 T4 petrol with a 21 spline clutch plate!

You are a 2003 Diesel with probably / maybe a 23 spline clutch plate, (you are around the change over years) and what happens with the engine RPM sensor as it is in a different place to the petrol so the cut outs also in the diesel flywheel may be different to suit!

I think if you are doing this conversion you will have to tread careful and get all the knowledge you need beforehand.....

Hasn't the diesel got a Dmf? The 850 tdi has an M56 gearbox but the flywheel is completely different to a petrol one.

Martin yes it has but I've stumbled upon a potential problem apparently in 2003 the m56 box gained extra splines on the shaft, and only way to tell is to strip it down and look see if I have the changeover box
