Hi,
Hope this is not too vague.
The ABS unit on the V79R (53plate) has failed beyond repair. Garage (P&R cars Leeds) has a replacement 2nd hand unit but this apparently needs reprogramming for the car. They are struggling to get this done at present. Is anyone in the Leeds area able to help? If so, then I'll get more details.

Have tried a search of the technical section with no luck.

Thanks,
Ian

Any ideas?

2nd hand ABS module fitted. Needs reprogramming in order to function.
Garage in Leeds recon there is someone in Salford who can do this.
Others tell me that 2nd hand units cannot be reprogrammed in these cars.

Can anyone on here shed light? Currently without abs, traction, cruise.

As far as I'm aware you can reprogram the units but you'll need to pay a main dealer to do so, or an indie with the full Volvo software suite. Good luck as I expect Volvo will want you to cough up for a new unit that will need programming to the car anyhow.

It might be worth contacting this guy,

http://volvodiagnostic.com/

He repairs etms , ecus and all sorts of reprogramming , he gets a very good rep for his work, and some stuff is done remotely, given that you are in Leeds.
