As some will know i had a problem with random misfire running approx 19psi on a 16T with a manual boost controller, on Tims advice i removed this and installed a new TCV, at the same time i replaced the 16T for an 18T with a billet wheel, 3" downpipe, angled flange and japanifold. I also have a forge actuator fitted with a red spring (19psi).

Now for the first couple of weeks all ran fine at the mapped 15psi boost, yesterday while on the A1 i booted the car quite hard and got 2 very loud bangs and the boost hit 25psi so obviously took it steady the rest of the way home.

After work tonight i backed off the actuator 1 full turn and with minimal effort the arm goes over the pin, to my suprise when booted it again banged twice and hit 28psi, now it only does this above 4500rpm, it will not boost above 15psi below this rpm.

Every vacume and boost pipe has been changed for new items also,no leaks, am i right in thinking this could be a suspect TCV??

It does sound like boost spiking I personally would wait while at Tims to double check mapping as quite a few items have changed and also try different parts if mapping doesn't cure it

I've got déjàvue here dude! Same actuator!
I did exactly the same & bent my rod to buggery.
Reckon you need to change the tcv mate.
Wish I did!
