Shropshire & Mid-Wales Meet at The Smoke Stop, Ford, Shrewsbury, SY5 9LH

Hi all. as some will know our old meeting place has got a bit too busy of late to accommodate us as we would like and the car parking is getting too crowded to get the Volvos all together, so we have been looking at alternatives. We where going to try this place out last year, but for one reason or another getting it sorted didn't happen and the place changed management and had full face lift, so we left it for a while to see how they went on and we now been in to check it out and see how receptive they would be to a bunch of Volvo nuts turning up on a Sunday afternoon for a drink, natter and a bite to eat for those that wish to. They are more than pleased to have us along, thus this thread was started

All are welcome, hope to see some new faces as well as the usual crowd, from 1.30pm onwards

No jamesy, not any more! I've ££££ myself this last 2 weeks, I feel guilty I've dropped us in it while the mrs is on statutory maternity. £113.70 in job seekers isn't enough & apparently we've earnt too much for tax credits!!??
I've made a decision & it's not contracting. Hopefully if it's good news on this job I'll be on more than I've earnt contracting.

Thanks, and I must say that I'm pretty excited. Even sorted the insurance tonight to take effect 25/4/15, and only £240 on our existing premium. Just got to remember to amend the reg cos she's coming off a private plate, and I'm hoping she's going back on to the previous reg.

My first Volvo was on a private plate that I bought, and when I sold it, the reg did go back to the previous one. Sometimes though, for whatever reason, that doesn't happen I believe. The reg on Nautic originally ended in BMX, which even though I don't ride them, was quite good.

I took my V70 R to an Alfa meet, but felt better when a member turned up in a Saab. I was looking for an Alfa at the time, so they accepted me with no issues.

well i was looking at the time but nothing around, they're quite rare, so ended up with the rarest of mondeos, but it shifts when i feel the urge (most of the time)

So this is nearly upon us and I still don't know what car I'll be in. The paperwork for the reg transfer still hasn't come through but we are still hopeful of me collecting the R on Saturday. If not, then it'll be the C70 T5 and I'll be travelling down on Sunday rather than stopping down the night before in the Midlands if I do collect the R.

Just in, great meet, was good to meet up with faces old and new. Whose were the 940 and 480, I never saw them there, I was busy stuffing my face though. Also had a good 'play' with Stewart on the way back, seems our 320 BHP S60R can keep up with his 370 (ish) BHP T5, must try harder mate. ;)

Awesome standard of cars, I must say big g's c70 blew my mind, awesome colour, awesome wheels & so clean you could eat your dinner off it. Big fan!
Got a few good ideas especially Neal/Colin's torque steer damper, definitely need to think about that one.
