Hello,

I picked up a Saffron S70R on Friday (thread coming soon). It's had a few mods but turbo related it's had a Forge actuator, blanking plate, RIP kit, cone air filter and increased pressure but it gets compressor stall a lot the sort of wa-cha-cha-cha-cha sound and does it every single time the throttle is released and you can only avoid it by lifting off very very slowly. Sounds great, far prefer it to a chavvy BOV sound but I understand compressor stool is not great for turbo's in general so what would people recommend?

My thoughts are-

fit an atmospheric BOV (really hate that sound though)

fit in a recirc valve (but where to route the waste air to with a cone filter?)

try and source the standard BOV plate and fit back onto the turbo

Any advice would be great :)

Thanks.

It's not stalling ( I won't start the ££££ jokes :)), it is fine chattering away, the td04 range aren't big enough to cause you any problems

It absolutely is compressor stall, more commonly incorrectly referred to as wastegate chatter.

As above though, our little whistles aren't big enough to warrant the concern.
