Gburg I'll be looking into dates and pushing forward in jan

Brooklands meet latter next year maybe summer? We did two brooklands this year as it's such a good venue.

I'd like to hear form the Essex boys and midlanders, plus those on the boarder with Wales.

Edd china has a driving experience it is where it is possible to drive his "office, v8 sofa and bed on the road as a passenger" and also some track driving or stunt car iirc, it was around £99 2 years ago and is centrally located, Milton Keynes I think.

I'd have to confirm things but as far as I know edd attends most of them, but I guess has to fit around filming?

How about some sort of topgear challenge? Driving around UK and sleeping in the cars? A drive from Portsmouth to "john o groats"? And others can pick up (join) on the way past up the country? Would include Scottish member as well?

Trying to give peeps the heads up to get dates locked down early enough.

Ideas please

I was wondering that if we can make is a bit more m25 ish I'll be up for popping up.

What about lakeside as a venue? Or blue water.

Must be a quiet part of the car park somewhere?

Plus nicci can go shopping if she wants to come.

Central? Milton Keynes is about 4 hours from Durham. Assume you meant central in terms of east and west O.o

I'd be up for the long distance challenge! We drove up to Loch Ness and slept in the back of the V70R (silver phase 2 at the time). Woke up to a lovely Scottish gent hammering on the window shouting "Get out of my campsite!!"

That's a lot in fuel taking it easy, car sharing? May be an option?

I'd have 1000 miles to drive 16hrs £300 (total) for me at 34mpg

Flights are £80, but in holidays they are £200 each

Taxis are £50 per person in gburg roughly to do everything

Of course plus cost of ferry crossing

It is a bit...I'd struggle to 34 mpg. Not many cheaper options. I got a cargo ferry from Esbjerg to Immingham once, don't think it wold be cheaper than fuel though

If we sleeping in the cars, sharing would need to be well thought out. Plus how would we pick up the 'Russ Meyer extra' hitchikers that I imagine litter the highways of the Europe

I would like to go to the Volvo museum, mainly for the trucks really but after that not sure what to do in Sweden. Copenhagen and the Øresund Bridge are a couple of things I want to tick off the list though.

Anyone fancy Istanbul?

2,500 miles = 3 tanks of diesel @ 85mph = £220 at recent prices.

Any Mid Scottish meets on the cards? Seen from the various volvo forum there are plenty about here

when would people be thinking about doing gothenburg trip and what would everyones expectations be?

Gothenburg can be quite expensive so how long would people want to stay there for?

any other cities along the way?

how long would the trip be?

how much driving are people prepared to do in a day?

I'll be looking at organising the Spring Performance Car Action Day again this year, which is at the end of April at Castle Combe, hopefully we can get a decent turnout.

I'll certainly turn up and watch, but I have nothing to take around a track unless the 940 is finished.

Pop it in a separate thread

How about a private airfield to conduct testing? See what's about 1/4s etc
